A university-industry collaborative "Postgraduate Workstation for Intelligent Sensing and Detection Technology" was officially established.

Tianjin University of Commerce (TCU) announced the results of its 2025 review of industry-education integration postgraduate workstations, and the "Postgraduate Workstation for Intelligent Sensing and Detection Technology," jointly established by the School of Mechanical Engineering and LiM Laser, was successfully approved. Recently, a delegation from TCU's School of Mechanical Engineering, including the Party Secretary and Department Head, visited LiM Laser for in-depth exchanges and held an awarding ceremony for the postgraduate workstation.

 

 

During the discussion, the awarding ceremony for the "Postgraduate Workstation for Intelligent Sensing and Detection Technology" marked the official launch of the collaboration. Leveraging LiM Laser's industry resources in metal additive manufacturing and the university's research advantages, the workstation will focus on the research and development of laser detection and intelligent sensing technologies, precisely targeting cutting-edge industries such as intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment. It will provide postgraduate students with a dual-scenario practical platform combining campus and enterprise, promoting the transformation of theoretical achievements into industrial practice.

 

 

During the meeting, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the application scenarios, technological bottlenecks, and development trends of metal 3D printing technology. They also exchanged views on new paths for talent cultivation and collaborative research in the field of metal additive manufacturing. Both sides expressed their hope to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism based on the postgraduate workstation platform, achieving resource sharing and complementary advantages in areas such as curriculum co-construction, practical training, and research projects. This aims to jointly build a talent cultivation hub and effectively promote the organic integration of the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain.

 

 

Subsequently, the delegation visited the company's exhibition hall and intelligent manufacturing workshop. In the exhibition hall, the college leaders learned in detail about the development history, core product matrix, technological achievements, and typical industry solutions of LiM Laser. In the intelligent manufacturing workshop, they observed the real-time operation of the LiM-X series metal 3D printing equipment up close, highly praising the equipment's stability, forming accuracy, and intelligent control system.

 

 

This research and exchange not only further strengthened the communication bridge between the two parties, but also anchored the cooperation direction of "joint talent cultivation, joint scientific research, and shared results". The two parties will work together to create a new landscape of deep integration of industry and education, inject surging momentum into the cultivation of new quality productivity and empowering the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, and write a new chapter of "two-way progress and win-win future" between schools and enterprises.
